--oOo---Love to you---oOo--

I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys. ~Charles Dickens

Holiday Boutique

I was part of the Holiday House Tour of Alameda Boutique. It rained, rained and then the sun came out, and then it got dark, and rained more! Not many customers, but I had a blast meeting my fellow crafters and learning more about being in a show. To my right was a wonderful artist who creates wire and bead wrapped serving utensils, behind me a pair of senior citizens who took a wood work class and now, together, create holiday decorations. My thanks to Gregory and Melissa who stayed with me all day and helped, or at least, made jokes, for the duration.

Tail of the Yak

This is my favorite shop in Berkeley. The window display shows their two large Angels fashioned into a Christmas Display. I just love the look, the feel of this place, and sometimes I just buy two yards of ribbon. But even that purchase becomes a treasure!

The Theater of Dreams

My hero is Wendy Addison.
Since finding out about my Cancer and subsequent health issues, it's been an odd journey of self doubt and self discovery. All I can say is, when I discovered the marvelous work of local artist Wendy Addison, I gained a real inspiration. Wendy's company creates Victorian inspired glittered works of art. She also creates fabulous printed objects on her antique letter press.

The fact that she is a woman, who creates fantasy, magic and beauty, in her charming work shop in Port Costa, that she has a business...creating art...has filled me with a sense of purpose myself. I have said to myself in these past few years, "If Wendy Addison can do it, so can I!"

It was a great joy to meet her today and to see her shop.
She allowed me to take a little peek inside her workshop. That was a real treat!
I drove home with a renewed sense of purpose.

Working with Watch Cases

These vintage watch cases caught my eye at the Antiques Fair. I love the elegant designs and the possibilities. I created collages from scrap in my own collection of antique papers.

New Paris and Jardin Vignettes

I found these little crown bezels at the Antiques Fair and knew I had to use them! I love making miniature things, and so I began reducing images in photocopy until I had some things to use in a miniature collage. I'm quite pleased with the effect! Now I want to find more crown bezels!

Gift Tags

I made these gift tags using real antique glitter. It's chipped glass and it really sparkles in a way the newer stuff just can't. It's not very easy to work with though, but it looks great! The images on the cards are reproductions of old "Reward of Merit" cards.

Estate Sale

This weekend I went ( more than once! ) to an awesome Estate Sale! The house was three floors and a backyard full of surprises. The place had been purchased by a man who was a member of the Historical Society and his mission was to return the house to it's original Victorian Splendor. He added stained glass windows and antique light fixtures. I was just in awe. It was like walking into a dream.
